Country Wood Products of Mio, Michigan now specializes in custom paneling and trim. We can match your old cabin paneling and trim. The lumber dimensions used long ago can no longer be found in the big box stores.<\/p>

At Country Wood Products we can cut our lumber to any dimensions. An example is the old true 1 in thick by 4 in wide tongue and groove paneling. Big box stores only offer 3\/4 in thick by 3.5 in wide paneling these days.<\/p>

We can match your old tongue and groove, shiplap or straight edge paneling, floors, ceiling and trim. Or we can saw out your own custom order to fit your needs.<\/p>

Our main line of paneling includes 1\/2 in by 6 in pine shiplap and 1 x 4 tongue and groove. Paneling can be rough sawn or planed for a smooth finish.<\/p>

Our paneling starts out as true dimensional lumber. After drying, the edges get trimmed to give two perfectly straight edges. This takes off about 1\/4 in on average.<\/p>

Special order for wide plank pine flooring being delivered<\/p>

Some of our past orders have included wide plank pine flooring for a full cottage. This included alternating 8 and 10 inch wide pine boards for that rustic old fashioned look.<\/p>

Above you can see a photo showing a full cabin renovation including 6 and 8 in wide shiplap boards. The walls and ceiling were covered with shiplap. We also custom sawed the trim to their specifications.<\/p>

Below you can see part of a full cabin renovation where we provided all the lumber necessary. Shown is the contractor installed and painted ceiling boards. These were straight edge boards. The customer wanted natural gaps like in the old 1800s cabins.<\/p>

Note: most custom orders are fresh sawn from green logs. This means that the lumber has to dry before it can be used. In summer this takes between 2 to 4 weeks depending on thickness.<\/p>

Also note that real wood paneling, flooring and trim cannot just be brought home and installed. For best results let it sit and adjust to the humidity and temperature where it will be installed. Allow at least one week and even better, two weeks before installation.<\/p>
