Country Wood Products began a few years ago selling firewood for home heating. This was a huge success and the company flourished. Country Wood Products offered tree thinning, fallen tree cleanup service and mostly firewood.<\/p>

But processing firewood is hard work and takes its toll on equipment and men. Things started to wear out and break. And then gas prices went up. Firewood was no longer such a great thing.<\/p>

This spring the owner Troy purchased a new sawmill and put it in the old Permalog Warehouse just South of Mio Michigan. The mill was inside and out of the weather making sawing more comfortable.<\/p>

Live edge slabs were the biggest sellers for many months.<\/p>

Country Wood Products started to spread out into selling custom furniture and gifts. Now we have a furniture store and gift shop inside the front of the warehouse.<\/p>
